EDICOMiPaaS, Integration Platform as a Service

Centralised cloud-based solution to integrate, orchestrate and monitor ecosystem workflows

Integrating it all is the big challenge

International companies generate and receive a vast volume of data from very diverse sources. This information, when properly analyzed, can be a significant edge for any organization.

That’s why it's essential to have integration tools capable of interconnecting and synchronizing all the information from the different management applications.

Today, companies work in hybrid infrastructure scenarios where they handle different business applications housed both on-premises and in the cloud. The evolution of virtual environments and electronic data management require new solutions for information processing.

With iPaaS, apps are integrated in the cloud and it is no longer necessary to use on-premises solutions like an in house EAI system or end-to end connections. The nature of the advantages presented by cloud-based systems have made it possible to bridge the limitations of previous in-house application integration systems.

  • Programming environment where each user has a set of dedicated resources for their own integration processes, regardless of other active processes.

  • An iPaaS allows other service-mode apps to remotely control integrations with no need to implement a user interface.

  • As with other cloud apps, an iPaaS has a web interface that makes it possible to monitor and control integration processes.

  • The integration software operates in the cloud and also enables functionalities to integrate the app processes run on-premise.

  • An iPaaS platform must by default include connectors to the main market apps across multiple categories like CRP, ERP, etc.

  • An iPaaS platform must be in permanent evolution, incorporating new connectors that enable users to simplify integration processes.

Meet EDICOMiPaaS

EDICOMiPaaS makes it possible for an enterprise to interconnect all of its apps, whether legacy, on-premises, or cloud, using powerful tools available on the cloud and outsourcing tool development, management, and maintenance to us.

With EDICOMiPaaS, an enterprise can fully or partially outsource the development of a complete app integration project to our specialist engineers, automating information flows instantly.

Whether you want to migrate from an on-premises environment between applications to a cloud integration platform, or you need multiple in-house ERPs or several applications from the same management area to consolidate information, EDICOMiPaaS offers a customised solution for your company's needs.

EDICOMiPaaS functionalities

EDICOMiPaaS offers a development environment to program and parameterize your app integration projects. Its functionalities are designed for streamlined and efficient adoption by technical and business users from an environment that can be accessed from anywhere.

  1. Publisher app administration

Configuration and management of apps that supply information. These apps are tasked with providing data to be operated by other subscriber apps. The subscriber apps will receive the information in a structured way for correct processing at destination.

  2. Subscriber app administration

Configuration and management of apps that receive information. These apps can subscribe to publishing apps. Each time there is a newly recorded layout from a publishing app it will be taken by the rest of the subscribing apps to enable the integration of data managed in different systems.

  3. On-demand connectors

EDICOMiPaaS implements advanced connector programming tools adapted to the particularities of each app (on-premises databases, cloud applications, batch processes, etc.).

  4. API repository maintenance

EDICOMiPaaS maintains and updates a growing inventory of APIs to simplify the rollout of new functionalities that drive connectivity with leading applications.

  5. Mapping tool

EDICOMiPaaS incorporates dedicated data mapping and transformation functionalities to adapt the source interfaces of publisher apps. The application makes it possible to ensure the perfect adaptation of any proprietary file (txt, csv, idoc, etc.) to the format that the recipient expects to receive, through any communications protocol in a synchronous or asynchronous method.

  6. Process automation and alert management

Allows you to develop rule and script programming tools to automate and orchestrate integration processes. The system also makes it possible to configure customized alerts related to process traceability and status (key process monitoring, message transmission rate, volumes, etc.).

EDICOMiPaaS main features

EDICOM assumes responsibility for the platform’s technology infrastructure, development, monitoring, and maintenance. Outsourcing the service lets enterprises focus on managing process integration, while infrastructure updating and maintenance is automatically tasked to EDICOM’s specialist technicians.

Security and confidentiality

Security and confidentiality

Security audits based on the international OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) vulnerabilities analysis standard. EDICOM maintains strict control over the security of your data and the suitability of your processes, as vouchsafed by the certifications the company has earned: ISO 27001, ISO 20000, ISAE 3402, TIER II Design, etc.

Integrated with EDICOM solutions

Integrated with EDICOM solutions

EDICOMiPaaS is integrated with the cloud infrastructure of the EDICOM service suite (EDI, e-Invoicing, VAT compliance, e-catalogues, certified e-archiving, e-signatures and certificates, etc.), thanks to native integration with EDICOM B2B2G electronic data interchange solutions and any external management app required.

High performance

High performance

The platform is designed to deliver on the needs of the most demanding projects. It is part of the EDICOM cloud infrastructure that manages over 500 million transactions per year. It is also equipped with powerful system administration and management tools that make it possible to monitor statistics, messages flows, and overall system behavior.

Scalability and flexibility

EDICOMiPaaS White Paper

Currently, companies are beginning to migrate all of their systems to the cloud. The primary challenges presented by cloud-based systems involve creating more secure systems that are quick and easy to handle with the capacity to be scaled globally. Through an iPaaS, companies “rent” apps from the supplier (SaaS) and the infrastructure needed for their operation (IaaS) such as: a data center, data archiving, and security systems.

Check out how our iPaaS service works and how can it help your company's app ecosystem.

Core components of an iPaaS solution

Management and monitoring based on web applications. As with other cloud apps, an iPaaS can be accessed online using an Internet connection to easily configure integration processes.

An iPaaS solution will by default include connectors to the main market apps across multiple categories like marketing, ERP, etc. In addition to the most common database connectors (SQL, MySQL, ORACLE) it will also provide text files and protocols like OData and ODBC. An iPaaS platform is designed to be able to adapt to new connection needs between apps, which is why the connector library will be open.

This is probably the most important part of the iPaaS platform. It implements dedicated tools to transform the data mined from one app to integrate it in others. This means you can standardize the methodology to convert data schemes from a publishing app into those of a subscribing or information recipient app enabling the integration of the solutions.

A suite of tools managing platform user visibility and complete traceability of the processes implemented in the platform in a simple, user-friendly fashion. For example, it displays where the data is, which applications have shared it, what it was converted into, whether a process was run properly or not and where there were errors.

In the same way as there is a connector repository, it is increasingly common for iPaaS systems to include an API repository that enables platform programmers or administrators to seamlessly create their own developments by using pre-established functions, for example, to create a connector that has not been predefined.
